examining the driver to see if he has been sprayed from above with no angles leaves the face orange which is the case here........

The drivers are hand painted, only the milk crates are mask sprayed.

The drivers look like they have been sprayed through the same mask in the same operation as the crates, from directly above

That's not my understanding of this model.

I suspect it is the genuine item but I would still like to examine it in hand.
The box is quite hard to find and I think the grafitti is pencil so it should clean up ok.
The price?. About £1000 too much.

Yes the driver and crates were spray painted, Mine was and I know that was genuine without a doubt as I got it for the price of a white crates from a friend / dealer that knew exactly what it was that he had,

Was the discussion about the drivers on Lefora or another forum. On that discussion, there were drivers that were hand painted. I've not seen one with a driver that looks the least bit like spray, not saying they don't exist, just that I have not seen one.

The mask for the silver spray results in a thick drop on the driver´s hat which shadows his face but allows his body to be painted. Every silver trimmed 7a model i have seen in photographs plus the example I own look like this with mask sprayed silver from directly overhead in one operation with the 4 crates

I think hand trimming had long been finished by the time the gpw were being fitted.

I could be going senile but I'm sure the there was evidence to the contrary. Maybe I'm entering my twilight for working from memory. I guess my days for just reading and no posting are much closer than I thought.

Hand trim was still in play as the horse was hand done.
