Found this Mustang GT 350 #23 today. I was surprised to see that it has "made in Hong Kong" on the base? What is the deal with that? Maybe this model is much newer than I thought?

Re: Mustang GT 350 question
Hello Bob, your Mustang is one of several models manufactured in Hong Kong during 1981, They were based on previous British castings from the 'Superfast' range but given new colours and mostly decorated with a lot of printed designs, logos and numbers etc.
The 1970 date on your example is the original date when the British version had something done to it, like the conversion to 'Superfast' or more likely it's modification into a dragster 'Wildcat' version.
Hope that is of some help.

Thanks Ghosthunter!
I'm glad you cleared this whole mess up. The base threw me off, as it looks the same as all the other Superfast Mustangs.
