I missed out on a beautiful blue Morris one time with a BIN of $19.00 - I didn't notice it until late in the day and when I clicked on it, somebody had already snatched it up. It had actually been on for over 12 hours before I noticed it. Just my luck that someone else caught it.

I did see a bunch of beautiful models being sold as BIN from one seller and they had already sold quite a few before I saw that the auctions were going. I contacted the seller about one of the models they had left and they informed me they would be listing another group the next night. I asked if she would shoot me a message when she was going to start listing. I ended up getting 7-8 models from her the following night hitting the BIN as soon as they were listed. The prices were fair and the models mint w/mint boxes. Good night for me!

We all have our methods and I don't think any of us can watch Ebay 24/7. So I guess its basically luck on some items!

Jason (Nearlymint) beat me literaly by seconds to a bargain BIN for a lovely SF # Ford GT in a great looking red script box. When i lose on a bargain it gives me some heart that i know it went to a good home.

Isn't that right Jason remember that GT with the unusual rivet!!! :x :x :D :D

Further to this discussion, I have been contemplating putting an ebay ad on the forum up on the top "board index" strip to show the 3 latest ebay buy it now's, It should display the very latest ebay bins so whenever a bargain does get listed then a member of the forum should see it first and snap it up, Do any members object to this?. Maybe we could try it out and see how it goes?.

I know I don't do any Ebaying here (anywhere come to think of it!!), but I would put it as a 'Sticky' on the 'Ebay' page ('Ebay Bins' or similar), because we are all now used to clicking those headings on any page we go to, rather than clicking areas outside the main list of headings and topics, just my view.

Sounds like it might be worth a try Nick.

To the original question, I think it is primarily a matter of chance. There might be a way to do some "filtering" via search criteria that may help your chances of getting a "deal" on something you're seeking, but I don't see real relationships on timing. My experience is that it is harder now to find real "deals" than several years ago as most Sellers have done some research on "value", but there are still some good values to be had if one is persistent. Ebay continues to evolve........................
