20b ERF Ever Ready Decal question.

Post by micullee »

Hello all,

Can someone spot a problem with this decal? If so, could this possibly happen without human intervention?

Thanks,
Michael E

Hi Mike.
I think the model has had some light damage in the past and someone has attempted to touch the chips in with a paintbrush, The paint that was used is a very good match for the original that Lesney used so it can't be seen except where they went over the decal, I would leave it as it is because anything that will remove the paint will also remove the decal. It is still a very desirable model.

Nick, thank you for responding.

I will put this one in the "Do Not Sell" area on my display. It will go next to my excellent 35a Horse Box with red tail lights. :o
I'm selling my collection on ebay and will not sell a known "touch-up" model. One reason for that is at some point someone will sell it as "Mint" "All Original" and another buyer will be hoodwinked as I was.

Kind regards,
Michael E

I agree on all points of Nick's comments: Touch-in, don't attempt to remove and still a nice model.
It might be time to start my "Bucket List."
