...and the winners are:

Lesney pre-SF (i.e. pre-1970 incl. pre-Matchbox)
7c pre-production (Nearlymint)

Lesney post-RW (i.e. post-1969)
SF19d Yum Yum (SMS88)

Non-Lesney pre-1970 (i.e. no low-friction wheels)
Solido Aston Martin DB5 (SMS88)

Non-Lesney post-1969 (i.e. no models subsequently converted to low-friction wheels)
Lone-Star Firenza (x 2) (Ghosthunter)

Congratulations to all of you (enjoy your 15 minutes of fame) and commiserations to everyone else. Many thanks to everyone who took part, whether by proposing models or simply by voting.
See you all later this year for Round 3!

Thanks for the contest Idris, I still would not dare choose my favorites. I still have 3 1/4 hours left of 2014 to continue my 'Shopping'

Maybe there should be Two versions of the Poll, one for 'Good old Blighty' and one for our friends across the pond...!

Then we could have a head to head contest to see who the real winner is.

Thanks Hugh for the hard work in putting this poll together, Happy New Year to you.

in theory a good idea Kev but sadly not many entered or voted, there was so many more contenders from other members
and seeing as Hugh put in so much effort I think it would dilute the responses for the next one
not being a grouch but more input would have been nice
thank you Hugh for all the effort you put in ,well done

...yes that's all very well and thank's again Hugh, but the big important event is the race between "Motorman" and "Ghosty". There is not that much in it as "Ghosty" is catching up in leaps and bounds, so if "Motorman" is not careful, he could be losing out again...!
