There is very little evidence to support the idea that 'Post-War' Bentley models (as this one is), had White tyres from new, but as it is your model then it is personal preference as to what tyres go on it, especially as you are already going to have a replacement grille casting put on it.
Ghosty.

Re: Todays Macron finds
If those tyres have been fitted since 1946 it would be a shame to replace them, originality is charm with these, which is why i would take the headlamps off a replacement grille and add them to the original grille if my example had lost its headlamps!moston100 wrote:Thanks SMS88, I am very fortunate as this is my fourth green 27c and I am certainly thinking of getting a new grille for the Bentley and maybe even replacement white tyres as I think the early Dinky's look good with them.
Re: Todays Macron finds
The tyres certainly look original but unfortunately one is missing and that is why I was going to fit 4 new replacement white ones. However having taken on board other members comments I think it might be more prudent to find another original black tyre circa 1946 and fit it to retain the cars originality.
