Something for 'Ghosty'

Post by matchbox_n_molars »

A year or two back a good friend sent me a fun card on my birthday. I stumbled across it today and found myself thinking of 'Ghosty'. So here it is Ghosty for your enjoyment! Season's greetings my friend!

Thank you Greg, very nice of you to think of me. When these original posters were designed, Rolls-Royce actually meant something, it was a very high status company, the pride of Britain.

Sadly this has changed somewhat. the cars no longer stand out from the crowd, posters like the one shown on your card are not done anymore, we just don't conjure-up the same sense of well being through the use of such products as those now made by Rolls-Royce.

What you see in that image is a nation at peece with itself and quite Happy to convey this to the World.

Rolls-Royce no longer make 'The 'Best Car in the World', but air passengers do still take a lot of comfort in seeing the R-R badge on the sides of aircraft engines as they walk up the boarding steps.

I was born in 1958, so was a little too young to enjoy the imagery around me as shown in the picture, but imagine they must have been wonderful times and it does help to create for me what life may well have been like.

Many thanks for showing it here, I have right-clicked and saved it for posterity.
