MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS

Post by matchboxmarcel »

Wishing you all a great Xmas and all the best for 2015.

During circumstances no more Christmascards were made this year to sent throughout the world by traditional post and there is no digital version of it iether.
As most of you will know for more then 20 years I made a special Christmascard featuring a rare model from my collection.
After 21 years this beloved tradition has come to an end unfortunatly.

All the best for you and your family.
This is the christmastree in my toyroom and if you look closely you see my all time favourite Matchbox Models of Yesteryear model, the 1911 Daimler A12.

merry christmas to you too!
Please use a web hosting site (like photobucket) to store pictures so you can post them here, using attachments makes it hard to view the pictures when you have to scroll to see them. Seeing comparisons of models is hard to see with attachments too.

Hello Marcel, why is that Daimler your favourite, what memories does it hold for you.

I realy like the Daimler as it was first made in 1966 and with such tremendous detail.
Look at the spoke wheels and the 1st runs even had gaspedals.
Compare it with a Dinky model from 1966 and you see that Matchbox made models which had far greater detail.
I also like the color of this model.
It seems that the real thing which this is based on is a more creamy color.
I have all variations listed in the Matchbox Models of Yesteryear collector standard book and some variations are very difficult to find.

Thank you Marcel, so it was the sheer quality of the model and something I expect many of us here can relate to, with their favourite models.
