As we come to the end of 2014, I have a few thoughts to air.
First we have to think of our collector friends and Family members who sadly can not be with us any more, because Christmas will be one of those periods we would have wanted them with us, for those members who have lost a close friend or Family member through Death, I hope you can still enjoy the Christmas break with your memories and other members of the Family, I am sure the forum members will want to wish you well.
My own Family has had problems in as much as my Mother has been making a good recovery from a mild stroke, but still needed my support and as a single Man, I was able to live with her and attend to the house, the Garden and shopping. That was until a Year ago when my Father became quite ill and I came over to help him settle into hospital, then he went straight into a care home and after Six weeks was showing signs of recovery that allowed him to go home. I decided to stay with him until I was happy he could manage on his own. Here we are a Year later and I am still living with him and trying to make regular visits to my Mum to make sure she is OK, how the tables have turned!
I would like to thank all the forum members this last year for your very kind words towards my private problems and I must say without this forum and the many members I would like to think have become friends, I would have gone mad and not been able to cope, but this forum has been a great help in keeping my mind a little more focused than usual, thank you everybody.
Have a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Kevin.

Hello Ghosty not 12 months but in the last 6 months I have lost 6 friends not collectors but just good friends, but then once you move into the 70s age wise it seems quite a common thing, to my lost friends and to other members who have lost friends Peace be with you.

Yeap it's been a hard year for you Kev and fair play to you for coping so well. Hopefully next your both your parents will continue to improve. Merry Xmas to one and all on here.
Re: End of Year Thoughts...
Kevin , I hope you have a perfect Christmas to round off a tough year that has brought you the blessing of quality time with your parents under difficult circumstances but as you know its time well spent. My parents had no contact whatsover after their divorce was finalised but I hope with health issues bringing a natural desire for peace you can share your christmas with both parents at the same time while you still have the chance.
This forum is indeed a great escape to the simple pleasures of childhood from the reality of an increasingly greedy deceitful world where World War 3 has already begun at the propaganda level so we all have reasons to be grateful this christmas for whatever degree of peace we can find when so many others in hell holes like Syria,Gaza and Ukraine wake up each day uncertain whether or not their lives , lives of friends and families and homes will still be intact at sunset.

Kevin, you have had a tough year and I'm glad you can immerse yourself here when you need to. I do enjoy your posts, keep it up and I wish you and all the members a happy, healthy and peaceful Christmas and New Year. My thoughts will be to the future but also with memories of those that are no longer with us including family and friends. At the dawn of a new year, I also send best wishes to Wolfie's family at this time and hope they can look back and gain some comfort from happy memories.
As Dave Allen used to say, "May your god go with you."
