Mike,
It would appear you have a 13a on the right and a 13b on the left.

Re: Difference 13a and 13b crane brackets.
Well spotted Nico!
13a jibs were easily detached from the model or broken off, so the change on the 13b was an attempt to improve the fixing.

Re: Difference 13a and 13b crane brackets.
Would a 13a jib fit the 13b casting and, if so, does anyone have a crossover?

I wonder why the wording "Wreck Truck" isn't centralized like the rest of the text? I hadn't noticed this before.

many interesting things you find on the base plate of the models.
It would be nice to Nick's homepage more photos
the base plates to see.
There are interesting differences to be found.

Re: Difference 13a and 13b crane brackets.
I've never seen a crossover. I suspect that they might simply recycle any older jibs (if any were left over) rather then use them on the "B" model. After all, the whole point of the redesign was to make the jib more secure.Idris wrote:Would a 13a jib fit the 13b casting and, if so, does anyone have a crossover?
I've used an original jib from an "A" model to restore a "B" model and it works well enough. I've also used the replacement reproduction "A" jibs on both "A" & "B" models when restoring them. However, that isn't really the answer you were looking for. The reason I mention it is because someone could cut away a "B" jib and switch an "A" jib to make a crossover model. I've seen "B" models with missing hooks and broken boom ends, but the redesign works well enough that I've never seen a completly missing "B" jib on a decent looking model. So I seriously doubt any crossovers exist except one someone might fake to cash in on the idea.
It might be time to start my "Bucket List."
