Tony,

I recon that Mathias has shown the very first issue F-1 box which would have had the word "new" above the model number on the end flap. (Perhaps Mathias can show an image of the box side on to see the end flap)

The F-2 box had the word "series" under the word "Matchbox" on the front and back of the box and the word "new" no longer appeared on the end flap.

If you have a look at Nicks web site he has a section on boxes and their identifying features.

Hi Tony.
Here's the link to Pat's box pages. view it with internet explorer as I know that not all of the pictures show if you view it with firefox.

All F type boxes of this model have "NEW" on the end flaps. The box shown by Mathias is the later type with the "LESNEY PRODUCTS & CO..." bottom lettering. It is less common than the earlier "A LESNEY PRODUCT", but I do not think it is particularly rare.

The reason is that there are some backslashes in the URL paths instead of slashes. I wonder if it would be possible to replace them all in one go.

Hi Christian,
I have the software to do it and it would only take a minute or two to do, But we know how much time and work gets put into putting a site together, I would be afraid in case I messed Pats site up, maybe I will find time to do it in a couple of days when I have the auction site done.

'F' Box correction...

This is not highlighting a rare 'F' Box type, it's a correction.

On the box notes page, the 'F1' is displayed under the 'F2', but captioned as 'F2', but the lower box is the earlier of the two, so the bottom box is 'F1' not 'F2'.

Nick, hope you don't mind me pointing this out, but now you have seen it, will you agree, that they need correcting and can you do it?

It seems to be catching! This is from 'Pat's Matchboxes on-line' page and surely these are 'E' Boxes, not 'F' boxes, unless I have got it all wrong! if so, somebody help me!
