Looks factory original to me, i would buy it if price was cheap. Clearly the high pressure spinning tool didnt centre properly - certainly no use of a hobby drill.

I would agree, a miss spun rivet or possibly it was accidently spun twice.

Thanks Gentlemen, your opinions are most appreciated and thank u very much
All done & dusted and now smiling cos i must have turned over 500 specimens without any luck.
Just so u know that this has never been a desirable casting for me and always gave me a toothache at the sight of it,really! On an honest & serious note and as i remember a previous thread concerning models/castings that we mostly/individually dislike and/which i do clearly remember my mentioning this particular casting that i disliked so in this instant finding this tough variation was nothing more than a conquest but since its nMint-Mint,i guess it will be staying paired up with the Turquoise variant
Thanks again,
numi

If all of your Faun Cranes give you toothaches Numi, please come to Dr. kwakers instead of Greg for guaranteed relief. I will 'Pull' those troublesome models for free, and relieve you from any future pain. LOL
You still have thousands of these Fauns to turn over to catch up with early collectors here on our Forum, this habit will not end here now that you have just one example of each. I still need that Turquoise in any condition, and would settle for that damaged rivet example to replace my two used ones. One of them Thanks to Jason because my hands got tired of turning these over back when I hit 2000 turned over years ago now ).....LOL kwakers
