Oh Misterpop !! - its Alexis Korner - I sat and got pissed with this guy and a young Eric Clapton at a Cambridge May ball when I was a roadie. They sent me out to nick a case of champers for them LOL.misterpop wrote:Found this track on youtube but no chance of a searched picture..Sorry you'll just have to listen to the great Alexis Corner..

Sounds like to beginning of a great story …………………….Moyboy wrote: Oh Misterpop !! - its Alexis Korner - I sat and got pissed with this guy and a young Eric Clapton at a Cambridge May ball when I was a roadie. They sent me out to nick a case of champers for them LOL.
I think I remember listening to him on Radio 1 in the early days when he presented a blues show on a Saturday.
Opened my ears to a whole new range of music.

Sounds a little like T-rex and Sweet cutting a 45 RPM together!

You don't know half of it Ian - some wild nights ie Beatles to dinner, Charlie Watts lived over the road to me, wife went out with Keith Moon etc etc.tractorboy wrote:Sounds like to beginning of a great story …………………….Moyboy wrote: Oh Misterpop !! - its Alexis Korner - I sat and got pissed with this guy and a young Eric Clapton at a Cambridge May ball when I was a roadie. Used to go to the Goldhawk Rd club in Sheperds Bush, London (used to be a house opposite the old remand home there) and John Mayall played there so all the young kids wanted to jam with him - most of them became very famous in their own right eventually but saw them all at the beginning which was great. Also used to go to the Marquee in Wardour St where many greats got their start. I was working at the time for Billy Gaff who was above the Marquee - great days and don't regret a thing.
