Ah Fred!
You've got the Armstrong Siddeley Sapphire in pink, God I loved that one as a kid.

Hi all,

Following my old post above I couldn't go on any longer and had to get that Armstrong, love it. Picked up the MG1100 too, a real favourite as a kid as my old man drove one in these exact colours.

Before i got on the net i bought most of my models from markets ,collectors shops and off mailing lists, the dealer would send you a list you would pick what you wanted send it back and when the models came hoped you got all of your options, one spot on collector who lived in maidstone i think is last name was mair was a favorite of mine because he kept on finding blue trailers (moko lesney !) anyway back in the day i went to wolverhamptons collectors market and bought about 10 cars for a fiver each from downstairs (its moved now) and about three of them were spot on ,one i remember was the Armstrong Siddeley Sapphire, also picked up the first spot on catalogue at the same time, these when to maidstone now twenty years later i am collecting them lol.

Ah, Pre internet shopping lists! I Remember it well mate, I used to subscribe to lists from The Train Shop Supermarket in Lumm Lane Bradford in the mid 70's. You got a zerox'd typewritten sheet each month with a list of what was for sale,

"Dinky 923 Bedford "Heinz 57" van, with Ketchup bottle. Mint Boxed, £5.00."
That sort of thing. Makes ya weep now.

You never knew how good it would be till it came, but to be honest TSS was always great.

I recall their lists also including models which they didn't have in stock, advertised at the price they thought they might obtain them for. You could send the money off and be put on what was, in effect, a waiting list for such models.

Hi Dave / All,
Picked up another Mk2 Zodiac, this one still has the working lights, I put a battery in, and they worked! For 2 seconds, then the lamp blew.
Here are my newest Blue Zodiac, and the model I've had the longest, the yellow one I bought from Stratford House Antiques by the canal on Broad St Birmingham in 1974 / 5.

So cute ! I promise myself I will have such a nice model one of these days. I was thinking about the Rover... but seeing this beauty it could be a Zodiac.
Thanks for sharing.
