#69 Rolls-Royce DHC, 'Tan Base'.
This model is (was), one of only Two base colour versions I had been chasing, the Aqua-Green baseplate (Nick Code 6) and the Tan baseplate (Nick Code 11), and I am very pleased to have secured one of these at the recent Sandown Park toy fair.
This Tan baseplate version came out right on the period when the Narrow 'Superfast' wheels were being replaced by the wider design and the tooling for the model's wheel-arches were re-tooled (opened-up), to accept them and both small and large-arch models exist with the Tan base. The one shown here has the small wheel-arches, so I still have a version to chase with the large-arches.
I paid considerably more than I would normally allow for such models, but it is quite a 'Hard To Find' version and this is the only example I had ever seen in the hand in all my years of collecting Rolls-Royce.

Thank you Jason, I am very pleased with it. I almost did not buy it because A, it was a little expensive and B, another dealer was interested in it and had already looked at it before I saw it and I thought there is a chance it was going elsewhere for even more money and when would I see another one!

Thank you Reg, when we were having our 'VBD/MOYBOYZ' Cafe conference, I had not got the model with me, I had only reserved it and had to go back later to collect it or I would have let you play with it around the table!!

Its usually American collectors that find thin wheeled gold #69s easy to find -perhaps the most affordable source would be a well connected NY area US based collector for the others you seek!

Thanks Mick, I am not that well connected regards overseas collectors, so will wait for them to come to me through the forums.
The Blu-Green base version (Nick Code 6) I am no longer chasing or searching for, as I have it on good authority it does not exist as a full production model, only as what can be classed as a colour trial model which is odd to just trial a base colour, but strange things happen with Matchbox models as we know. The one example pictured in a model magazine many years ago, just does not surface within the collecting circles and its status must be questioned.
I would love to be wrong on all the above, but I am happy it is one model never to be part of my collection.
