It isn't an early colour trial as the wheel are wide so it's not the one on front of the motorway box. I could have been intended for the 1971 re - colours I suppose.

Those wheels make this a late 1970s Japanese model era baseplate

Hi SMS88 and Steve,

I received the model today... As a matter of fact, I think it's a Japanese edition (not a pre-pro).
See pics below. The colour doesn't look that pale, indeed... It's more like a shade of fluorescent yellow (compared to the yellow Miura I've put next to it).

Regards

The fact that the doors have clearly been sprayed while installed makes this look like a real factory paint job and the odd paint on the rivit could be accounted for if it was tray painted so now I see no reason not to regard this as a real colour trial for the Japanese run or perhaps a Brazilian because they did use this shade.Does this yellow match any models in the 1978 catalog - Superkings perhaps ??

It certainly looks like its a genuine item to me, The clear windows, wheels with no wear and bright unmarked paint. Very nice indeed.

The griffo looks very good my friend......a very very good find,...... as a matter of interest what ebay site was it listed on??

I also must agree with Reg,,,,, the SF#1 Dodge looks like a prepro/colour trial what more can you tell us about it?

Didn't look at the wheel hubs closer enough so I agree could be a Japanese issue. Certainly a later issue.
Looks good to me what ever the story is behind it. Nice find.

That's a very nice find and what a difference good photos make. The thumbnail of the Dodge on Christian's site looks yellow, but it's described as orange. When I expand it, it looks more orange than David's one, unless it's the photos or my screen.
