I'm not sure what the etiquette is here on revealing names, but it makes me a little uncomfortable.
If this piece shows up at auction, good news will travel fast.

I use "Paint" editing software which is usually preloaded into any microsoft windows based computer. I resize the original image to a 500 x 375 pixels and then save that image to a new file. I then up load the new saved image onto the forum, works every time!

I appreciate your candid reply however if you have just uncovered a potential source of faked HTF Matchbox it only seems right to fore warn members accordingly IMHO.

I want to see how the seller handles this situation before I determine how I will handle it.
Is it common in similar situations to reveal seller names? Perhaps this seller was as fooled as I was. There is no red flag in the story of how (they) obtained it.
Perhaps (they) were as fooled as I was. I mean yikes, this could have been one of my auctions.

There have been a number of fakers exposed on this Forum, however it is right that you should speak to the seller first to establish their thoughts as i have previously said they could be entirley innocent and not aware that they sold you a fake. if however your enquiries open a can of worms then it is only right that the forum are given full disclosure of your findings IMHO.jaskelrod wrote:that is a good point.motorman wrote:jaskelrod wrote:""""Jason you said this was a private transaction?

The amount of money we spend in this hobby can be significant-----which feels like an understatement in my current situation.
I think that you are right in suggesting that the good collectors in this forum be protected from being taken advantage of.
If I find, or suspect, impropriety, or this seller is not fair with me, you can expect a name.
However, I do not want to see a person blacklisted for an honest mistake.
Thanks, Jason
(let me know if you change your mind on that GPW Euclid)

you only have to look at the ones being sold at Sandown a few months ago with the seller quoting Vectis & Rockertron as his sources , Graham was not a happy man after finding out , false claims as to provenance like that could ruin the reputation of what I feel is one of the most trustworthy sellers out there viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2190&hilit=sandown#p17891
here's a link to the models that caused the upset
people that make rarities for their own pleasure are not a problem , the problem occurs when they are sold on possibly in good faith by relatives if the collector has passed away or end up being part of collections that are broken up they may end up in the hands of genuine third parties and are then assumed to be correct until something like this unfortunate incident to Jaskelrod
I wish you good luck in getting it resolved
