A Moko Lesney No 26, Cement Mixer

Hi, I have just joined and I don't know much. I have just inherited some really cool Lesney Matchbox from just after the war and completely unused. I was not in a rush to sell them but of course had a look to see their worth.....

So, is that realistic? The one I have is perfect and has the rare silver plastic wheels. It's really cool. I also have a no.11, no.15, no.12 and no.25. Here is a pic of the no.26 - enjoy! I love it. Any advice on value would be great.

Welcome to the Matchbox Forum (Site) looking at your picture I would say the are Grey Metal Wheels, as your picture is very dark.

Also it has a short stem to the rear of the barrel, which only comes on the model with metal wheels.

This picture will show you the difference with the short stem and the long stem, short stem is the one on the left the long stem on the right.



This one has the Silver Plastic Wheels.

The photo is a bit dark, I'm not sure but they look like 18 tread metal wheels. Put the tip of your tongue on a wheel, if it's cold it's metal

I agree with JB they do look like metal wheels.

They are metal wheels as the type A short stem variation which this is only comes with metal wheels.

Brilliant, I love it even more. Knowing the detail is part of the fun, I think.

I can confirm that the wheels are metal and of course it is a short stem.

I see that each number of matchbox can have several variations - how do you know what variation you have? Is there is place to find?

I'm sorry for all the questions but I'm really enjoying this new hobby

Yes if you go to Nicks 1-75 Variation site it has all the information that you need, although my variations are from the "Mike Stannards Book"
