Corgi Juniors 48a ERF Tipper
Corgi Juniors 48a ERF Tipper
I'm rather pleased to have got this one, it's been on my 'wish list' for a while but there never seem to be many about. All of them I've seen have been this variation in blue with a yellow tipper body and Whizzwheels. Does anyone have the red version with silver body, and are there any without Whizzwheels?
I was quite surprised to find a silver tailgate on this, but then again I was quite surprised to find a white rear door on my red Transit Camper Do all the yellow bodies have silver tailgates?

Like the red one, thanks for sharing. My wish list grows again
It looks good as an 8 wheeler, and something about the picture looks familiar. When I was a kid I had a couple of 'Observers' books on commercial vehicles and I think it's from one of them, probably an ERF press photo or something? The artist has done a good job of losing an axle too.

8 wheeler looks more realistic. Not easy to recognise this toy when we saw the real deal on the road, clearly designed when Corgi were cutting corners!Shortlived uncommon toy,I just have the blue cabbed version so far
Re: Corgi Juniors 48a ERF Tipper
It would definitely have looked better with 8, and considering the success of Lesney's 'Hoveringham' Foden and AECs they may have been better off forking out for the extra axles!
I'm just speculating here, but would this ERF have been the last small scale tipper based on a real truck to be made? I know the Superfast Leyland Artic looks like a tipper but does it actually tip? Kids tastes must have been changing, tippers were always amongst my favourite toys.

I`m sure corgi could have put an extra axle on,so it was more like the real thing!!! The red cabed version took me a lot of years to find, can say ive seen many since, happy hunting....
Re: Corgi Juniors 48a ERF Tipper
Still chasing the red cab version- quite HTF as is the tan tipper version of the blue cab. I only have the blue cab yellow tipper variant.
