We had to include a general cut off date and anything pre 1982 was included in the casting show. The Sierra i am sure was issued in 1983.

The Sierra was designed by Paul Carr (of Carr collectibles fame) when he worked for Lesney in Chingford, N London circa 1982 I believe. I'm not sure if it had a made in england base or not but it does show an england base on the technical drawing.

Did George swap the cars with the boxes ? 11.5mm (solid?) wheels + blue light should be earlier production than red light with 10.5mm (hollow?) wheels !

As I am more familiar with regular wheels as the 1st one comes with the Red dome light, so I did not give much attention to the 55d Superfast models.

So for the Superfast purest just imagine they are round the right way (Mick) :) :)

I believe the blue light SF55 (all had either 11.5mm or solid 10.5mm wheels that I have checked) were made before the red light SF55 (all have hollow 10.5mm wheels only as far as I have seen). Red light SF55 seem much more common.........and of course we have the box art which PROVES blue light versions were sent to box artist!!

No Problem. I assumed the cut off was the introduction of the Macau base.
