red vw 1500
Re: red vw 1500
The idea of faking used rarities witten is to convince a Buyer that these have been childhood Toys most of their lives. I have been collecting 50 years now since 1964, and I have never seen some of the 'rarities' this Seller is trying to sell you, let alone have them all show up in the same display and ALL are used? A closer look at the factory finished ends of the axles, not the domed ends he has pictured here will show you that these are fakes someone has made up to sell. The idea that 'Most have been sold' is to hurry the cash out of your pocket while he tells other buyers the same stories about a few of the models they would like to buy. Request clear close-up photos of the riveted axle ends to post here for us, and you may find he will not send you anything but clear domed end photos and blurred finished sides. We can help you with good photos, but I doubt the Seller has any rare originals in this case at all.
Enjoy your daughter and spend the money on her if this Seller is a fraudster and does not respond. You will be a much happier person in the long run. I know this is not the encouraging news you expected, but our 'Trusted Seller' list is a good place to buy these rarities as they turn up, usually only one or two per year.......Yes, the models this fraudster has copied are that rare to find! kwakers

I can help you out here concerning the trailer: It's a Fake.witten wrote: Nobody of you all really gives an 100% clear opinion of the green hubbed trailer. Greetings
The VW is also a Fake by means of a base switch (SF body placed upon a RW base). Some dabs of epoxy are probably the reason the base is firm.
Sellers like this one crank out these Fake rare models on a regular basis and they can make good money off unsuspecting collectors. Using playworn models is the trademark of several well known Fraudsters.
It might be time to start my "Bucket List."
Re: red vw 1500
[quote="hydra427"]I was offered this very model several weeks ago and passed on it and several other items. Just too many questions. The person that offered them to me stated that they had been in their collection for a long time. I have pictures from other models that they were offering for sale as well. All of them "very rare" wheel variations. I had my suspicions as well about the authenticity of the models. I sent photo's to several dealers that I know and they said to shy away as well.
These were also offered but most were sold before we could make a deal. Think in the long run I am glad that I passed.
Heres a pic from the old forum.Seems to be from the same scammer who was also a member here and who tried selling these off in the murky waters.

Re: red vw 1500
Sorry witten but ure in denial here and until u pass that hurdle only then would u accept that this Red Vw is a fake and accept what our members are telling u.witten wrote:Sorry guys ,but so many fakes in one collection; I don't known. If you would fake ared vw ,wouldn't you try to fake a red vw in mint condition? And secondly, I've seen several fakes but always there was some movement between the rivet and the base. This one really doesn't move at all. Sorry for my poor englisch and sorry for putting my topics in the wrong category. Next week, when my daughter is back, I'll try to put some clearer photos on the net. Nobody of you all really gives an 100% clear opinion of the green hubbed trailer. Greetings
The base is a clear swop cos the bad wear on the wheels and wear on the base is inconsistent with the apparent wear on the body. This faker had also deliberately removed the remaining paint off the body sills(underside). The interior is a swop cos the tow does not show much signs of playwear. The baseplate also does not show much signs of playwear and seemed to have been dipped in chemical to give it that shot-blasted/etched or over-played look.No factory rivetting tool could round-off or flare that base rivet below the surface of the base and into any stem hole/rivet hole like your specimen shows. The rivet as Tinman states could possibly be held by epoxy glue or other. There are also tool marks apparent on this spun-rivet flare.
Your Green-hubbed trailer could also be a 99.9999999% fake!

That's interesting - exactly what happened to me with the models which were shown as a collection on the old lefora forum and then appeared on Ebay a few months later.tractorboy wrote:Had my doubts and asked seller for close up photos of green wheeled field car.

I think this is the same person.
Re: red vw 1500
I think I see a pattern here.....LOL Who is this masked Seller everyone should avoid and where is he located?........kwakers
Re: red vw 1500
All I can remember is that his/her ID on the old forum had something to do with "green" as did the Ebay ID. The Ebay listings stated that the seller's location was Leicester, but I posted them back to somewhere else. (Sorry, can't remember where.)kwakers wrote:I think I see a pattern here.....LOL Who is this masked Seller everyone should avoid and where is he located?........kwakers
It would be helpful to know how members were contacted with these offers. Was it via this Forum, via Ebay, or what?
Re: red vw 1500
I was contacted in a private message here on this forum. They were a new member with a few postings. I think just so they could PM people. I know I was not the only one offered these models.
