Jim, It looks the model will not be packed in a clear plastic case as previous years?

See my overview of those here:

Not that much into Modern Matchbox, but that 'Fire Engine' is nice, looking like a SCANIA maybe! ...and presumably these will still be aimed at the 'TOY' market, so as a toy it is good and with a little bit of painting-down, it would make a decent model. The wheels despite being brightly 'Chromed' are very good, much better than previous wheel designs on Modern Matchbox miniatures.

Having a passing interest in Fire Engines, I could collect this one, very nice.

Model looks pretty good. Too bad they won't package them in the little plastic cases.

This is a photo taken at an 2011 exhibition I did for the 3 inch club here in The Netherlands.

A pitty that they didn't use the plastic case for this model.
Maybe Larry can ask Mattel why they didn't?
Mattel probally answer: it is confidential.

The box says: its build tough and rugged enough to tackle any adventure, rumble over any terrain.
Well I would say DON't try this with the latest PLASTIC Matchbox models:
