Not sure where to put this so please move it if necessary
Visited my flee market guy today and he showed me this, made from tinplate and although a bit rusty it still contains liquid, probably holds about half a pint or so. Being unable to find out anything about it I wondered if any of you guys can shed some light (I'm expecting Ghosty to have something about this, no pressure Kevin)
Hope the pictures are clear enough

Re: tri-ang tin bottle
Hi Reg,
I think this Milk churn is possibly from the Push-along Toy Dairy made by Tri-ang, it would have originally came with a push along cart and ten wooden milk bottles. I dont know the date of manufacture but it was certainly a very early toy in Tri-angs history. Click on the link to see an image of one.

A quick Google and I think it's possible these churns were also used on the old Tri-ang Bedford tipper, the red pressed steel type. Don't like the thought of the liquid inside though

I don't know much about Tri-ang but I wonder if these churns were used with different models? (Reg! Reg! are you there, you've not been tasting that liquid, have you?)

Hello Reg, just wiping my tears away to add something to the above for you.
The milk churn you have shown in the pictures do belong on the truck shown in "Motorman's" image link. It is generally called a Bedford and was introduced in 1950 with wooden blocks or the milk churns. It was not catalogued for very long because the milk churns had too much lead content in their construction so they were not safe for Children to have, so be careful Reg while handling yours!!
Ghosty.

Don't worry about the handling aspect, it's the drinking that's got me worriedGHOSTHUNTER wrote: It was not catalogued for very long because the milk churns had too much lead content in their construction so they were not safe for Children to have, so be careful Reg while handling yours!!
