Congratulations George! I know how much delight you find in managing to find a new variation from your isolated corner of the Matchbox world. Does the top half look as good as the bottom?

Please use a web hosting site (like photobucket) to store pictures so you can post them here, using attachments makes it hard to view the pictures when you have to scroll to see them. Seeing comparisons of models is hard to see with attachments too.

Hello Greg, yes it is always a joy to find these little variations even if you have to turn the model upside down to view the base, must be "MAD" to look for these variations Yes Greg the top half is just as mint as the bottom,
Hello Brad, no I do not have the 1st casting base on the 55d mercury, but it must be out there as it comes on all the 55d variations, another one to find

George...after i asked if you have the #55 with the 1968 mercury base...i thought...oh no the red dome light had that base...then checked mine and i have one with the red dome light and one with blue dome light...two to look for

no doubt George...lucky the blue light is less expensive and another over looked model...overlooked to look under i guess!
