Hello all, long time no speak! Busy life of late, one of the things I've done recently is to close my little etsy shop, another has been to reopen my facebook account. Although this was for reasons other than diecast I've joined a couple of the diecast groups and was wondering if any forum members were active in any of the FB diecast groups and/or could make any recommendations? I'm extremely wary - in one of the groups a new member has just posted a green wheeled Scout Car, a yellow and grey wheeled Fordson and now a gpw 6b - all of which are for sale...............

Re: Facebook
Nick why don't we also start a facebook page ?
Re: Facebook
Although I don't use Facebook (and have no intention whatsoever of starting), it might be a good way of advertising the Forum and attracting new blood.tjlglass wrote:Nick why don't we also start a facebook page ?

Re: Facebook
I like the idea, as Idris said it would advertise the vbd site and may give a taster to users that don't normally go on forums, would it be a closed group like some or open to all with the hope of attracting some "shy" collectors. Who knows it might draw some rarities out to view

Re: Facebook
Interesting.
But, then fewer members in the forum?
I think our questions and information and Talkshow belong her here.
Please no splitting.
My opinion. Greetings Mike

Re: Facebook
On current experience this forum beats anything on FB by a million billion miles. I have applied to Matchboxworld and am awaiting a reply. The more general diecast groups seem to have very little in common with the forum, and as the forum is so easily found online I can't really see what would be gained from having a FB page. No place like home
Incidentally, I mentioned at the start of my first post here that I'd given up the etsy shop. I had found that even very part time dealing had taken the fun out of my collecting and my searches were becoming more about what I could sell on rather than what I actually wanted. I'm having more fun already!
