K-8A Question
Do you know if the short decal as shown in the 1962 Pocket and Dealer Catalog pages is the first run of this piece? I realize I am missing the variation that has the red writing on the decal, but it appears by the D boxes that one would be the 2nd in the series, and the long decal without the red writing would be the last issue. Is this correct?

Re: K-8A Question
Hi Steve, The earliest D box illustration shows the long decal with the additional text was the first one used. I think the long decal was very quickly phased out because they were difficult to to apply and there were too many rejects.
The second D box shows the heavy LAING type.
The E box shows the lighter LAING type.
Regards.

Re: K-8A Question
That long text, long length trailer decal is truly a rare one to find (and one I hunted forever with no luck). Seems the square door decal is nearly as hard to find in the USA as I've never seen either of these in person.
It might be time to start my "Bucket List."

Re: K-8A Question
I am confused (which is not very hard to do). The 1962 catalogs show the smaller decal on the model and the box.
I have a square decal version but not the long decal with text.

Re: K-8A Question
What a superb collection of mint K8 models, one of my favourite kings. The trailers are very hard to tell with the small text.
I have yet to get a mint boxed one as they all go for very high money. Here are my used ones, still looking for the black base version.J

Re: K-8A Question
Wow, not one, but three with the long text, long decal!!! I've searched in vain for years just to see one in hand, much less own one.
It might be time to start my "Bucket List."
Re: K-8A Question
I have the long and the thin text versions but despite looking cannot find the thicker text version. Never seen a square cab decal yet.

Re: K-8A Question
Just want to ask if anyone has the clear window version, i have found 2 now and both have metal wheels.
Just wondering if anyone has one with red plastic wheels.
