Below are some of my Silver Shadow II variants

1. brown, light yellow and ivory interior on the metallic red models (note the different shades of metallic red as well)

2. clear, smoke, yellow and amber window on the metallic tan models (it's believed that the yellow window was caused by sunlight)

3. light and dark metallic tan

4. clear, yellow and amber window on the maroon models (similarly it's believed that the yellow window was caused by sunlight)

the amber one was a bit of a banger, but an unlisted variant for its silver-gray base (actually, does it qualify for amber window?)

6. another unlisted variant, in red (probably same as the red one Mathias shown on his 5th image if it's England base?)

The red from this unlisted variant is slightly brighter than the Macau release

7. finally, the CCI code 2 model by the Gals, and the rare but controversial 'Climat de France' hotel promotional model

Here is a 'Sun-Fade' example of #39e, showing nice Yellowed glazing on a similar body colour and these seem more prone to this problem as I have seen others like it.

The left-hand model in "Ritchie's" picture with the 'Climat' label can also be found as a Silver-Grey first issue and the right-hand model in the same picture is 1 of 20 examples only.

Ghosty/Ritchie, why is the Climat de France model controversial?

to my understanding, the climat models had often been questioned over the authenticity.

'CLIMAT' models...

I have not seen any 'Official' stance on the validity of these models regards their relationship to Lesney U.K. or Lesney France. I have seen several different models from the range with the 'Climat' lable applied and the models seem to come from the same period of production, 1979-81. My understanding on these has always been that they are 'Promotional' and instigated by the owners of the 'Climat' name and therefore classed as 'Code 3' models.

Because the 'Climat' label is pretty basic with simple two-colour printing on a sticky backed paper label, it is fairly easy to fake allowing for the controversy to grow, this is why I do not publish clear 'Head-on' pictures of the label, seen on the boot of the 'Climat' Rolls-Royce in my own media.

it is indeed very limited info on the climat models. from record, there're 10 different matchbox models associated with climat promotion.

Christian Falkensteiner's matchbox site illustrates the different climat models from collectors. of those, the below models from collector Marcoliv Martinez and Bernd Beger respectively, are in French blisterpack, assuming original unopened condition:

LS73c-f16bpFr.jpg
LS73c-f16bpFr.jpg (25.99 KiB) Viewed 2868 times
and from John Nijhuis' matchbox forum (http://www.mbxforum.com/11-Catalogs/02- ... chL220.php), it describes the climat model as

" … part of an extremely rare French Set of Promotions made by Matchbox …"

so is this suggesting the climat models are 'Code 1'?
