No tow guide + no patent no = very early (almost certainly pre-production) casting.

I think the interior is a Trial too as there are no strengthening struts to it.

I hate to 'Bump' Nick's Bid, but I'm in at 2 1/2 Pounds as a factory error. LOL I promise not to paint it metallic purple and sell it for huge money on E Bay as an 'All Original Factory Lesney' Tim. 8-)
The interior does not look 'white', very unusual for a pre-production moulding. This one is a beauty, and it is a delightful piece of Lesney History. Please let the Forum know if you ever decide to auction it Tim, and Thanks for sharing it with us. kwakers
