Re: MOTORMANS FINDS 2014

I'm not sure if I'm right here but I assume this model is a very early one, non metallic green as opposed to brighter green of later issues. This would date it's release to late 1969 early 1970. Also it has the round 7 label rather than the later square 7 label or 45 label. I therefore would have thought the wheels on it would have been narrow, solid or hollow. These wheels look like the later issued wide wheels from the late 1970 or early 1971.

Cheers Steve.

Hi Steve, the wheels are correct for this code 1 variation, at 11.5 x 4mm (hollow) 5 slot . I beleive that some pre production versions of the group 6 were fitted with solid 11 x 2mm solid wheels. Now that would be a nice find!! :D

Preproduction models exist with narrow wheels. My understanding is that all production models had wide wheels and that they were specifically developed for this model (or, at least, this was the first model they were fitted to).
The initial release was a mixture of metallic and non-metallic green models, the non-metallic version allegedly being more common in Germany. Subsequent releases were metellic green.
