Re: ultimate matchbox grizzly Vectis auction
Did Vectis add the commision to the above prices? They seem to be listed at higher selling prices than the ones that were given to us just after the sale ended. They did a very good job advertising their successes with Ralph's rarest models, it will be interesting to hear about some of the models sold that did not meet the minimum estimates.
Thanks for posting the highlights of the sale here Marcel for some of us Non-Vectis U.S. collectors. kwakers

Yes Vectis add the commision to the above prices.
The prices I quoted earlier were hammer prices.

Hi All some out standing prices I don' know if we are ever going to see such a large collection up for auction again. The Superfast auction is in November over two days I don't know if they will be in single lots or groups. Did anybody on the Forum pick any bits up Pete

Amazing results - those tan cranes fetching so much more than the red Victor or the gold Berlinetta which for my money are much more desirable!matchboxmarcel wrote:Highlights of the sale:

Based on my personal observations of Ebay auctions, there are considerably more red Victors around than there are tan-bodies cranes.SMS88 wrote:Amazing results - those tan cranes fetching so much more than the red Victor or the gold Berlinetta which for my money are much more desirable!

Hi All in my eyes the red Victor was a beater massive chips on the roof & paint lose else where. The tan Cranes had chips Pete
Re: ultimate matchbox grizzly Vectis auction
If the Victor was tatty that explains its low for Vectis price. Prices are fixed by both demand and supply - red Victor is for many closer to the iconic reverse wrecker than the tan crane trucks so if condition had been excellent more that dont have a red Victor would have been prepared to dig deep. White interior Corsair made a great price but its the gold Berlinetta that was the star for me - this is the one Harvey talked about as a colour trial which has survived in significant numbers in deep pocket collections but not yet surfaced in the online communitypetethesweet1 wrote:Hi All in my eyes the red Victor was a beater massive chips on the roof & paint lose else where. I am in chock... first of all congrats to Ralph there was so many nice models. And it shows that selling collection on Vectis is the right choise. I am amazed over some of the prizes. Not so much the tan crane and so on, but BP tanker with decal more than 300£ ??
I will never win anything on vectis
Have a look in my ebay listings http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/dr_jazz/m.htm ... pg=&_from=
