This might be the reason, but why? isnt it more plausible that they never platted it? maybe ran out one the production day? I do not have a pipe truck beater to try this, but I will find a ergomatic cab to do a test.

Maybe it was dropped down a toilet and a very carering mum Dettoled it as it was a favorite?

So now I got the truck, and I am pretty sure that it has left Lesney like this. But I am all ears :-)

If it had been bleached would there be any trace of the foil in recessed areas
Also do any others have this mixed plastic moulding under foil?? Looks like a test shot of a mould using recycled scraps

Never knew that as I've never stripped one, does that only apply to the pipe trucks and presumably the Douglas /pointer tippers
