I took a chance on this one on ebay. It was cheap what is your opinion on this? is it a variation or a oops?

no tow guide...ive never seen a white grill model without one..the say they are out there but i havent seen one yet...this one looks grey and with swirly colors...maybe a prepro from the molding process before the plating process

the body doesnt have the axle supports...did you catalog the model to see if its a code one on nicks guide?
Please use a web hosting site (like photobucket) to store pictures so you can post them here, using attachments makes it hard to view the pictures when you have to scroll to see them. Seeing comparisons of models is hard to see with attachments too.

I think this may have been left soaking in bleach which can take the chrome off of the baseplate,
someone want to experiment with a beater?

I've had brake fluid achieve a very similar effect to this, right down to the streaky/patchy patterning.
