Lime-gold & Maroon Lagonda

Post by Lummox »

Not as rare as the cherry red fenders, but I think the maroon fendered one is the best looking Lagonda of all.
And in a way a bit of a transitional piece I think. Either way, she's a real looker!

Nice one, she is definitely a beauty - and looks a lot classier than the cherry red.

Hi Guys, until the introduction of Y-4, Duesy, the Lagonda probably takes the credit for being the most talked about model, simply because of the so-called 'Strawberry Red' version and all subsequent versions since then pertaining to be 'Strawberry'. I have seen so many Lagonda models in so many shades of dark red, maroon, and purple which on their own could be seen as a very rare version, when in fact they are not!

I am not rubbishing your excellent example, it is a very nice model and I am pleased you are highlighting it here on the forum and giving it it's deserved airing over and above the 'Strawberry' example, so thanks for that...having now said all that, I think I know someone on this forum who is likely to go away and come back with a genuine 'Strawberry' Lagonda to treat us...!

Enjoy the rest of the forum Guys, regards,
GHOSTHUNTER.

Thank you Mick for those, I knew it would be you or Bob to supply the real thing(s) and that really is the best way to see the various shades on the Lagonda.

Wow, thanks guys for the great pictures.
I really should get a book on YY's as I only know the basics, and not even all of those. What book would you all recommend?
Or is there a worthy on-line guide?

Jason, the strawberry and lime model with the plastic wheels must be very uncommon, huh?
The model sure looks best with the brass-like wheels though...as ALL Yesteryears do!

MoyBoy, what's the story on the silver model? (Wow!)
And the rear plastic parts are even made of silver so it would appear.
And your pic of all the shades is very interesting to see.

Thanks again guys. Great to see some excitement over YYs!

Click on this link for an 'On-Line' guide...http://www.vintagebritishdiecasts.co.uk ... delsof.htm

That will tell you most of what you want.
