The Real Land Rover Fire Truck.

Post by cody6268 »

I accidentally stumbled upon this a number of months ago. As it turns out, the Land Rover Fire Truck is modeled after a Carmichael FT6, which is based on a Land Rover Series II chassis.

Here's the brochure.

Fascinating. Thank you for this!
So Carmichael was basically an outside coach builder.

Must have been made in VERY small numbers.
A friend of mine is a long-time well know Rover restorer, and has never heard of this one.

Forward control Landies would be special order so not stocked by most dealers - probably hundreds rather than thousands made. This one must be ex military because its a 1960s example with a 1977 numberplate.
