Heloo Forum VBD,
My name is frenk and i am from the netherlands.I just find the forum by Nick Jones Vintage Britisch Diecast website.
I alrealy mailed with nick because i find something very rare.
Its all about a box witch i find after many years. My grandfather was a marklin train collector all his life.
Sadly he is not with us any more but he left some surprices behind.
Some of the trains collection we still have and with it was a box with little white papers. So something must be checked.
and there i find some macthbox vintage car wrape in the papers. Arroud 21 cars and a few boxes.
I didnt know nothing about it and why he had this with his trains. Mayby he bought it as infill for the train landscape.
So there for it was up to me to find something more about it, and by google i find Vintage britisch Diecast. Even more
quicker, then finding a forum or website in my own country.
I really liked all the details involded the cars, castings , color etc how its presented on the site. Great work.
Time for me to check some with the cars i find in the box, and there was the first rare car discrypt.. The citroen DS 66a.
That was so strange for me to find so i ask nick about it.
Now i am not really a collector like you all but just find them between the trains. I dont have boxes of the first casting.
I would like the share some pictures with you guys and maybe you can tell me if the are regular or rare.
For an example , here is the citroen DS (with the rare casting as i find out)
And here some boxes, no 43 and no 15 are with the cars inside. box 15 flap damage.

Re: The old shoe box of grandpa
The 66a is actually a crossover, being the first type body (no interior rib) paired with the second type base (triangular webs behind rear axle).
Re: The old shoe box of grandpa

Hello Frenk, welcome to the forum.
You have some nice slightly played-with models there and a good starting point to continue the collection.
The orange Austin Cambridge estate car and sand coloured VW Combi Van are made by 'BUDGIE' and look to be in very good condition.
Enjoy the rest of the forum and thanks for showing these models here, its not every day someone starts a collection like yours straight out of a shoe-box!!
Ghosty.

Re: The old shoe box of grandpa
hello Tjlglass and Ghosthunter,
Thank you for the responces, guys. I was amazed too when i find them too. I expected trains(marklin).
Ok Budgie brand for the other two,.. that explains why i could not find them in the Lesney list.
My grandfather has some friends in the UK for many years, maybe they
give him the cars by a present, the ambulance and to add to his train railway upset.
thanks for the comments. I am new here but appreciate the comments and the views.
great to meet you all.
