Thanks Johnboy for the 'TELSALDA' model, it is one of several versions using this same moulding and seems to be a cross between the Corgi Toys, Joe's Diner snack Van and the "Matchbox" Ice Cream Van.

I think Joe's Diner is a lovely little model.

It certainly was, I played with mine constantly, because it fitted-in with the Chipperfields Circus models I had. Might have to get another one to bring back even more memories, but there are some scary prices on the 'Net'...!

On page 1 of this thread, "Moyboy" posted a nice selection of "Matchbox" copies and models 'Inspired By'. Looking back through those early pages, I don't think I gave any answer or guidance as to who made two Russian models, a Stutz and Packard, so hopefully it is not too late to add it here.

The Russian made plastic model above is clearly based on the 'Yesteryear' Stutz Bearcat and there is a matching Packard Victoria. They come from the 'North Donetsk Factory' who are more well known in re-issues of previous old plastic kits and in doing so have created a very large range of kits for their product line.

When many kits are too old or passed on to another company 'North Donetsk Factory' had to develop other toys and models and they obviously thought a range of classic cars would be a nice addition and the result are at least two 'YESTERYEARS' were made based on Lesney originals, but made in plastic as this is cheaper.

The picture above was taken by Russian collector, Max Paransky, so please if you must, use it with respect and give him the credit at all times, thanks.

Thanks Ghosty,
I have both the Stutz and Packard allthough my Stutz is in darker colors.
My Packard also has a different colored base and hood etc.
I have no boxes with these but have seen (expensive) boxed ones on Ebay some while ago.
I don't think there are any more activities in the Donetsk factory now this is in the middle of the east Ukrain-Russian war.

Using Google search I found this (and if you scroll down you see the MOY copies) An interesting website with all kind of copies by Russian and Ukrain factories.

Here are my models:

Hi all,
look, what Linus expected here at the original auction-picture: a RW #74 Daimler bus in beige...and wow...looks in great condition, too. :o :o :o
Today the lot arrived aaaaaaaaaand

You still looking for the answer

it's a chinese copy, made by maisto  :x

Got the lot for 7€ (already including postage) and there is a nice Siku Golf I convertible in it. RW #32 has grey plastic tyres. So all in all it's not that bad.

Greetings,
Linus

Thank you Linus for the pictures. I would class this as an 'Inspired' model and not a direct copy, as differences can be seen between the two castings, but it is still welcome here, thanks.

I'm not so sure about 'inspired', It looks more to me like Maisto have used 'cleaned-up' Matchbox tooling. I've sold a few of these Maisto buses, they're no more than 20 years old, so it seems odd to me that in the 1990's a company would choose to make a model of a (relatively unknown outside of UK)1960's bus (with the same Park Ward (?) bodywork) unless the tooling was already available, considering the #17 Londoner (Daimler Fleetline) & Leyland Titan's that followed, and similar Corgi Junior all produced before the Maisto model was conceived.

Has anyone else noticed the large quantity of 'Blue Box' garages that seems to have appeared on ebay - are they making them again/still?
