#32 Aral Tanker. Base rivet Question.

Post by motorman »

Now i have to admit that i did not spend much time looking at this listing and placed a low bid on it based on the first few images i glanced at. Well when i checked my e bay this morning to my suprise, i won it!

Having had some more time to look at the images, I am a little concerned that the two rear rivets have a lot of paint on them. The model looks very clean otherwise which is what got me interested.

What are your thoughts guys on the rear rivets.......is this a repaint?? Please be frank with your comments, the model cost me under £23 so i can live with it :D

The box is decsribed as a reproduction box. it looks a very good repro box to me. :D

They do look a little odd, especially the plastic area around the front rivet...

Thanks guys, very good points and the more i look the more i suspect this is a repaint. The paint finish also looks a little on the thick side.

The moral of this story will be: Never bid whilst drunk!!!! Image

The base rivets don't scare me, but those light colored pale labels scare me a bit motorman. Perhaps someone in Europe has seen a run of this style label out of the Lesney factory, so don't give up on it too soon. kwakers
