Hello Mike,
I saw this, too. I would say it was originally a cream canteen but it's partly overpainted. The middle part looks more olive-green or ochre.
The base has been opened for detailing the interior. There are traces of glue to the front and rear of the base.

Maybe the work of a railroader.

Greetings,
Linus

Well good observed Linus.
But nevertheless a nice and interesting model. Or? ;)

I might be difficult to remove the detail painting without damaging the decals. If someone buys it, best leave it alone.
It might be time to start my "Bucket List."

It'll be interesting to see what it sells for.

Hi Johnboy,
I watched this canteen this weekend when it was online for the last minute. I think it fetched a price of roundabout 25€ + postage.

I was only an observer.
