Hi Mike
I remember you posting pic of your little truck on the old site. I would have to go back to find my comments,
I tend to agree with Idris though.
After WWll there were a lot of diecasting companies set up in the free-zone in Germany to make all kinds of things, and as Idris mentioned, the model shows signs of proper diecasting, however the crudeness of the model's design and the quality of the zamak used, suggest it may have been done by a hobbyist, perhaps a worker with a bit of handycraft skills and ingenuity, who had made a die and used a bit of zamak off the top of the pot to make the model. Toys were lacking in the time after the war, so a little model like this would certainly have been appreciated by a small child. If only the model could talk.
To me the model closely resembles an Opel Blitz truck, a vehicle that would have been very common in Germany both during and immediately after the war.
From what part of Germany, was the seller located ?

Re: Request for Information Model unknown.
Interesting model, never seen one of these before, small too.
Looks to be very crude manufacturing, the amount of metal used, and the relatively large size of the injectors may suggest an industrial diecaster who was trying out making a few toys rather than a better known company? There were quite a few of these after the War when metal was in short supply and new markets were needed.
Hope we can find out what it is.
Chris Warr.
EDIT : SORRY I REPEATED SOME INFO FROM PREVIOUS POSTS, NOTE TO SELF : READ TO THE END BEFORE YOU GET EXCITED AND JUMP IN!

Re: Request for Information Model unknown.
Helo Mike & Nico, I have had an email from Robert Newson about the little mystery grey truck.
When I posted pictures of your truck to Patrick Trent, it was with an understanding I would also post them to Robert, as I had met both of them together at a recent toy fair and I knew they were of equal importance in the model car world and friends.
The outcome of Robert's email is, that you had previously contacted him about your mystery truck and drew a 'Blank' he had no new details to add to what we have already established and that Robert has in fact been in contact with you about this. So, we have no new information to add.
I have not received an email from Patrick Trent, but I believe it is likely to be of similar content to Roberts, because my email to both of them were linked on purpose to the same subject and I know they conversed with each other on this mystery truck.
So for now on my part, your little mystery grey truck has stalled!
Thanks again Mike for bringing it to our attention, it was an interesting talking point, but for now, it has gone on a 'Back-Burner'.
May I wish you and Nico, a very Happy New Year and more collecting fun during 2014.
Kevin, the GHOSTHUNTER.
