I have some some extremely good reproductions, even down to dirt, scuffs and penciled prices. I suggest that interior shots are required, showing flaps and fold lines, before any decision can be made.
Not all would-be deceivers resort to lies. A significant minority prefer weasel words and obfuscation. So, you could try to pin the seller down by simply asking him a very direct question. If you don't get an equally direct answer, you know the boxes are fakes.

Very true. Some repros look very authentic from the outside. The inside can be a different story and the colour, texture of the card, (and the feel of the card and even smell if you can get that close) can help to identify a repro. Machine folds are also quite distinctive on the inside with a raised regular straight crease which is not so easy to reproduce accurately and is often obvious if they have been folded by hand. There are some very skilled makers of repro boxes out there, you have to be on your guard.

I agree that the new-generation repro boxes are real scary!
U could also check this sellers past sales history, his current listings and his feedback just to give u a hint.

Long time collectors (I consider myself as such after 40 years of collecting) can smell the old carton and judge quite well if there are repro or not.
The inside of repro boxs is often much lighter then the old boxes.

Sometimes I struggle when I have them in my hands let alone from viewing a piccy. Fakes/repros have put me right off buying boxes, they should all be binned
