? Base swap

Post by artherfonz »

Hi All,
I was looking at this auction #301259555591(at work) which is about to close, unfortunately my workplace has restrictions on software and i am unable to lighten the photo's,it appears to me that this may be a base swap. The green rivet doesn't seem right, the auction has lots of activity, will it be a bargain?
cheers steven

A dodgy rivet and well worn wheels on a minty looking model always rings alarm bells. I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole :D

Please use a web hosting site (like photobucket) to store pictures so you can post them here, using attachments makes it hard to view the pictures when you have to scroll to see them. Seeing comparisons of models is hard to see with attachments too.

I did bid early so that ebay would email me that it was finishing, I was preparing a snipe till I noticed the rivet and tyre wear, I watched till the end when the snipes were active $82.77AU was the finishing price.

Green colour looks all wrong to me Steven - I'd say repaint rather than base swap.

Certainly looks like the rivet head was drilled and the stem re-flared.Clearly a base swop as the excessive play-wear on the wheels and base is not consistent with the Excellent+ body.
