First off, a big thank's to Alex for the re-sizing of the images, secondly, please Bronzegreen, do not do anything to this gift set, don't be tempted to open the paints or any sealed packaging, it must stay as you found it, even any stores stickers or price stickers on the outside of the box, leave them there, because it all adds up to an overall superb package.

This is one of the best items to be shown on the forum for a while and you must be proud of it and personally, I would not sell it just yet as it may come in handy for answering any questions forum members may have about such a set, also if it has any sentimental value, I would find it hard to sell.

Thank's for showing it here and do look after it.

Ghosty.

Wonderful condition, If you sell it you really need to send it to www.vectis.co.uk to get the best price.

I have to agree with Ghosty. This is a magnificent gift set and particularly rare. I mean can you imagine how many kids got one of these for Christmas? Very few i would think given that the original set cost more that the average Joe could afford to spend on one gift. And to survive untouched after all these years is unheard of.

I would sooner jump in front of a bus than part with this if i was lucky enough to own it. IMHO :D

Motorman
Thank you for uploading those for me
I have been doing some research and found a set that went through Christies auction rooms missing the original paintbrush and glue tube
That made £1200
The first time any of this set has been out of the box was for these photos
I did find this too ?

That choice is yours, Vectis is probably the most well known Auctioneer of Diecast/Toys/Trains etc and seem always capable of attracting a world wide audience for a good sale day. i would suggest you contact them and see if they might make your gift set the main feature of a future auction giving it worldwide promotion and potentialy lots of world wide bidders with deep pockets.

Regardless of what auction house you choose, so long as this is properly advertised in a specialist sale you will not go wrong!!! :D

Going to make contact with vectis as you have suggested
Thank you all for your help and knowledge
I'm in no hurry to sell and from what you and others have said it will make good money once the right buyer is found
I was sent a link to one that also was as new and complete that sold for £2250 !
I guess it all depends on the day
I do have other models in various conditions and will post them here for you all to see
Some are classic corgi cars
Some dinky
Some newer models lleudo or something from late 80's early 90's all new in boxes
Not to mention the brittans farm toys I have
I'll keep you posted on what Vectis say and what fate I decide for the set

Good luck John with whatever decision you make. If you really need the cash it will certainly fill your wallet. If you dont need the cash then put it away for a rainy day.

Remember this gift set belongs to you, so dont feel pressured by Vectis or any other auction house to sell. They will always want your business when the time is right, just make sure it's the right time for you and you will have no regrets. :D

Will I went to the auction place
Admittedly the toy specialist was not there but I nearly fell out of the door laughing at the valuation given
Maybe they did not allow for the contents of the box
