Hello Chris, you have a lovely selection of classic trucks there, they are in a condition that allows you to handle them without too much fear of leaving marks and finger-prints all over them, not saying you don't care for them or look after them, you probably do but mint in box examples are like the 'Crown Jewels' you dare not touch them...

Talking of condition, is that all green Foden with chains original, because if it is, it has survived amazingly well with all posts and it's chains still intact, it is bloody amazing, wish I had one like that, so I have saved that picture for my own files, hope you don't mind.

Yes the MK1 chain is original, but if you look closely there is a split right across the bed in the centre, and the rear posts are held in with blu tack!
I took a decision 20 odd years ago that I would rather have 10 playworns than 1 mint in box. For me the joy is in all the variations.
If they were all mint in box I'd bloody retire on 'em!

I remember as a kid playing with a Dark blue Supertoy Tanker ( i think i borrowed it from another kid in the street!!!) i am sure it had "Regent" decals i think...i might be wrong about that, anyway I have no idea what happened to it, but great memories.

I wondered what that line was going across the bed, never mind, makes it look as if it has been a proper working truck as real ones were.

In the Sixties we used to get Corona drinks lorries and Coal and Coke lorries come down our road and I remember the Coal and Coke one was a Bedford 'TK' flatbed with rear board and it was fantastic, all complete but with driver adjustments and temporary repairs to keep things in place etc.

I also remember having the Dinky Toys Bedford 'TK' Coca-Cola flatbed truck with central divider and rear board. It had rows of plastic Cola bottles that clipped onto the the side areas and one day I decided they should be cut up into separate smaller bundles of Cola packs and had to pack out the exposed areas with Plactisine to keep them level when stacked back on the truck or when taken of the truck for delivery to my pretend row of shops, the things we would do to enhance our hours of playing...

Yes the Regent tanker is the blue one above with the red Mobilgas, one of my absolute favourites.





Dinky never bettered these I reckon.

I bought two years ago at a huge outdoor antique fair of a couple of lads who had cleared out a huge house in Derby, should have kept one but i got an offer i couldn't refuse for them!

Hi all,
Yep I was pleased to get a Sweeteners Tanker a couple of years ago, prices on these are mad, and I'll never see another I can afford, it was my second most expensive Dinky after the 920 Warrior, but I had to have one. There is some doubt as to when these were made, some quote as late as 1970, but I think those hubs are mid 60's at the latest.
Very late casting though, the slots for the wagon bed have been filled in.
