The grill certainly looks red Mike.

In isolation the grille moulding certainly is red...the 'Chrome' effect plating can be dissolved away with a certain household chemical, or if the model is left in damp areas in the attic or garden shed.

Please use a web hosting site (like photobucket) to store pictures so you can post them here, using attachments makes it hard to view the pictures when you have to scroll to see them. Seeing comparisons of models is hard to see with attachments too.

The chrome effect can change to all sorts of colours but it looks very even so I would guess it's been coloured in too.

Hi Mike if it is cheap give it a try :-) I think it is painted, but could b wrong :-)
