Thanks all. I am off work until the 28th of this month, so I will go slow about removing the paint.

The old Lesney paints (pre 1963? ish I think) are very tough, I've been really pleased with some results removing overpainting from some of the oldies, I hope yours goes well.

Thought so. Good luck Tony. This one is on my want list, yellow version that is. I believe that Numi won the one I was watching in a lot last year. I was gone at the end. Be gentle and let us see the results.

Good news and bad news. The #15 is yellow as seen in these base shots, and the combine does not have the open step.

I am very happy with it. I will try removing the paint from one of the others first to see it will go.

Nice one Tony - good luck getting the paint off - looks like it might be in reasonable condition underneath the overpaint.

Cheers,
Gavin

I had an early Rag & Bone cart covered in grey paint. The method I used to remove it was to use methylated spirits on cotton buds. Doesn't seem to do anything at first but keep dipping in metho and rubbing gently and paint softens up and comes off. To get in tight corners I used wooden toothpicks the same way to get the paint out

BEFORE - Halfway through it.

I will try to find some here local and see what happens> Thanks for the tip. I would have loved to have seen it before it was painted, as the bottom looks to be in very good condition.

Thumbs up with the Prime Mover, lets hope it is in very good displayable condition to make up for the Combine Harvester having a closed step...

Nice one Tony,
