Original Lesney Insurance Certificate.

Post by tjlglass »

Having a clear out and came across this, it is original but I have no idea where I got this from ?
Image
It was in an old file that I haven't opened for 7-8 years and I nearly threw it in the bin, just as well I checked it's contents.

Went to the Doctor about my memory once, and he couldn't remember where I'd put it either...

Funny you should show this, yesterday a lady visited me who late 50s to the middle 60s, worked at the Matchbox factory, she had some stories to tell about trimming the models.

Any way re the Matchbox insurance policy A lady was working there and the models were on the above system going in to be sprayed, when one flew off and hit here in the head and cut it open.

This lady told me that the floors of the factory was always littered with rubbish, they all went home that evening, but when they came to work the next day, you could eat off the floor it was so spic & span.

The reason being that the insurance inspectors were coming that day to inspect the factory after a claim for the ladies accident.

Same story to be told when I worked at Vauxhall Motors in the UK, we all work in other peoples rubbish, we suffer minor injuries and discomfort until suddenly a whirlwind of charge-hands and cleaners sweep through the shop floor, picking stuff up, putting stuff away, adjusting the machines, checking for warning signs are visible and clean etc, etc, ready for factory inspectors to come round and critisise everything (sorry, inspect!), you'd think the Queen was coming round...
