Isn't that just something to behold, I wish I could find one for my 69c Silver Shadow, I don't even know if one exists, but if it does, I hope its got my name on it.

Hi Ghosty, I assume you are referring to the SF-69a Silver Shadow (now we are going to argue over what classification tables we are using...I am using Charlie Macks) anyway i dont believe the SF-69a ever came in an F type box with Red script. I am sure that the first issue F type boxes for this roller were all Black script before changing to the more common G type box. I would love to be proved wrong but i am sure that i am correct.

Ghosty,

Which version of the SF-69 do you consider to be the rarest?. For me its the Dark Gold body with tan base ( i am still looking for one)

Hello motorman,

I have not really considered that, there are several that I consider HTF, but two favourite HTF models are the very first version in blue with thin solid wheels, the dark orange interior, normal gloss black baseplate but the long seats moulding from the pre-production models and the lime green version on the 1971, U.S. card.

I have recently been posting about this first blue model to johnboy in another thread, (I think it is in Mick's superfast casting etc, etc.) and as I said there, I don't have access to my own 69c Silver Shadow models at the moment, only a few older images, but I do have a decent image of the lime green U.S. model, shown below.

I would like to know if any other members have this early blue issue, because so far, I have not found another example in the flesh or in pictures.

Regards,
GHOSTY.

This is the first box for 69c, Silver Shadow coupe and so far I have not seen a 'Red Script' version, but I want to, so if any members have one, please, please, post a picture of it.

Ghosty,

I am sure it never came in red script.

I agree, I don't think I am going to find one.

Too much red already on the box so they changed the "superfast" script to black.

However, as I mention in an earlier post, I have such an early version of 69c, in blue, with the same long seat moulding from the pre-pro in yellow, it would easily be at home in a red script box, never mind.

Thank's for coming back on this topic, see you around motorman,

GHOSTY.

The rarest SF69 Roller appears to be the metallic blue with the #31 Lincoln aqua coloured baseplate - only 1 has been shown online as far as I am aware.I have no gold example with tan baseplate yet... and havent looked for the pre-pro seat moulding. There is no red script F box for this casting. This is one of my top 10 favourite SF castings and I must say that I have failed to find a final lime bodied issues having been looking at toyfairs & fleamarkets since 1999.

The red script SF type F boxes were only issued for the first few RW models converted to SF (such as the Ford GT, Iso Grifo and VW 1600TL). These are pretty much the same design as the RW F type boxes with the SF logo simply added. All the new 1969/70 castings that were issued from the start as SF (such as the #69 Rollie) with type F boxes came only with the black SF logo, and featured pictures of models with SF wheels on the boxes.
