On a recent trip out to Washington state we stopped and visited with Matchbox veteran collector Mickey Kosko. I ended up buying from Mickey a 2a dumper with green painted wheels and the dumper retained by the small uncrimped panel nail (the rusty one on the right).
Is this variation less common than the rounded head crimped pins (on left). Does anyone have an example with unpainted wheels and a dumper retained by the uncrimped panel nail?

Hi Greg, I have uncrimped pins on plain and painted wheels too.
I'm glad I checked these, because I'd forgotten about the darker/lighter green paint.

The drivers look a different colour shade aswell.
