6a (Quarry Truck), issued 1954, length 55mm, box types A and B.
6b (Euclid Quarry Truck), issued 1959, length 63mm, box types B-C and D.
6c Euclid Dump Truck, issued 1963, length 67mm, box types D and E.
6d Ford Pick Up, issued 1968, length 71mm, box type F.




The Narrow gap and the wide gap of the front axles, the narrow gap one has curved corners and the wide gap has angled corners as the picture below shows.




A small casting variation but not listed.


The ejecter ring in the centre os a half round cross brace, and the other one the ejecter ring in the centre of a flat cross brace.




The first casting with out a decal on the door, and with crimpted axles.





With a Biff Rivit, but no cross brace, with a Domed head pin and riveted ends with a cross brace on the bases.


With Silver trim to the radiator grille, unlisted in Stannards book.






The 5.5mm steps and this type of wheels.

The double solid type of wheel with recessed hubs 12.5 X 45, and the single twin pairs of wheels 12.5 x 40.

IIRC, we now have three of these in the Forum (George's, Greg's and mine) - more than enough to accept this as a genuine factory variation.

Hello Hugh, may be even more if the members really check their #6b models, I have 2 of the 1st casting one with-out the decal on the doors. The other one has the decals and a Silver Grille, both have crimped axles. Hello numi that is a very nice "D" box you have, I am with envy.

I checked my Stannard code 1 with the crimped axles and early casting - no trace of silver to the grille I'm afraid.

When viewing the 'Salesman's sample' Bronner display that was featured here in a Post and sold at auction last week, the 6B in it had no decals on it. I attended the sale of this display 5 1/2 hours away from me, and all the models it contained were dead Mint and untouched from about 1959-60 when the display was taken out of a store, folded shut, and then packed away. What a time capsule that display turned out to be when examined closely.
The fact that the 6A in that early 1958 display had been replaced with the 'New' 1959 released 6B with no decals proves to us (or at least to me..LOL) that these Dumps without decals were an early first batch delivery to the U.S. warehouse of Fred Bronner. Mike Stannard again failed to use Bob Brennen's Guide of known Lesney variations from 1973 when investigating for his, and consequently failed to even list the 6B without decals as a well known U.S. variation in his very comprehensive 1985 U.K. Matchbox Guide.
It's a shame I didn't think to check for your silver grill on that 6B in the display George, that would have been proof of timeline on the silver trimmed radiator variation also..........kwakers
