Thanks Mr Mick (Sms88) for your opinions. In fact ure the very first poster after approx 40 views and who gave me some hope & a great sigh of relief with this leaning towards being a genuine factory specimen.I noticed in the listing quite easily that this Lomas was definitely Cream in color against the silver trim contrast. The roof cross became the cherry!SMS88 wrote:Yes it looks genuine to me, a lot like satin paint yet with a thin carrier film around the edge like solvent fix decals have. Looks to be very nice early production model made perhaps before side decals were in the factory ready to apply !
kwakers wrote:Exactly my first impression Greg, the BPW with roof cross CASTING in off white is a very rare bird on it's own.
Nick does say the 'roof decal from the 14B', which may indicate he is not of the opinion yours is a solvent type transfer at all Numi, or it may well be. The red roof cross really may have been done either way for an early trial model like yours, so who could ever say they were not correct either way? The off-white body is correct for the known red roof cross BPW models Stannard had seen by the time he published his 1985 Lesney Guide. Mike's Guide indicates the bodies went to white paint after the early red roof cross (*Possible Trial Run) production was discontinued.
